  • GREEN BUILDING IS ALSO KNOWN AS A SUSTAINABLE OR HIGH-PERFORMANCE BUILDING. THE PERFORMANCE VARIABLE IN GREEN BUILDING CONTAINS WIDE RANGE OF DIMENSIONS SUCH AS 1- ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE INCLUDING RESOURCES, ENERGY, WATER, MATERIAL AND COMPONENTS, SITE SELECTION, ENVIRONMENTAL LOADING, EMISSIONS, WASTE, TRANSPORT, ETC., 2- SOCIAL PERFORMANCE INCLUDING HEALTH, INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, COMFORT, ACCESS TO FACILITIES, CONTROL, EDUCATION, SAFETY, PARTICIPATION, ETC., AND 3- ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE INCLUDING EFFICIENCY OF USE, CAPITAL COSTS, ONGOING COSTS, OPERATION COSTS, ADAPTABILITY, MAINTENANCE, DURABILITY, ETC.


  • EVALUATING PERFORMANCE IN GREEN BUILDING SHOULD BE DONE BY CONSIDERING VARIETY OF BASELINES SUCH AS ENERGY, WATER, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION, WASTE GENERATION AND RECYCLING, OCCUPANT COMMUTE, AND OCCUPANT SATISFACTION.
